Mold Testing & Licensed Mold Assessments in Islip, New York

The visible water may be gone, the leak may be repaired, and the room may look dry. But that does not always tell you what happened behind the walls, beneath the flooring, or inside other affected materials.

All Island Mold Inspectors provides mold testing, moisture investigations, and environmental assessments in Islip, NY for homeowners and property owners dealing with leaks, basement water, storm-related intrusion, musty odors, and suspected mold after water damage.

After Water Damage, the First Question Is How Far the Moisture Traveled

Water rarely stays exactly where it first becomes visible.

A plumbing leak can move into the base of a cabinet and beneath flooring. Water from a bathroom may affect the ceiling below. A roof leak can travel along framing before appearing as a stain in another part of the room.

Common water events include:

  • Burst or leaking pipes
  • Basement water intrusion
  • Roof leaks
  • Appliance overflows
  • Bathroom plumbing problems
  • Ceiling leaks
  • Storm-related water entry

All Island Mold Inspectors provides 24/7 emergency water damage response and water mitigation, including extraction, structural drying, dehumidification, moisture mapping, thermal imaging, and water-damage documentation.

Removing standing water is important, but the next question is what happened to the surrounding building materials before the water was discovered.

When Should You Start Thinking About Mold After a Leak?

You do not necessarily need to wait until a large patch of visible mold appears.

A closer assessment may make sense when:

  • A musty odor develops
  • Materials remained wet
  • Discoloration begins appearing
  • Drywall becomes soft or damaged
  • Baseboards swell
  • Flooring warps or separates
  • Mold appears after the initial cleanup
  • You are unsure how far the water traveled

A mold assessment considers the property conditions and moisture history rather than relying on one symptom alone.

All Island Mold Inspectors provides mold testing and licensed mold assessments, including visual evaluation, moisture assessment, air or surface sampling when appropriate, remediation protocols, and independent post-remediation verification.

If you recently experienced water damage but cannot see mold, our guide Should You Test for Mold After Water Damage If You Can’t See Any? provides additional guidance on when further investigation may make sense.

I recently discovered a very small section of mold in my basement, (approx 5 square ft). Richard McGinty (aka Richie Mold) from All Island Mold, (who came highly recommended) came out to take a look, and asses the situation. Richie took the time, explained everything in detail. Any questions I had were answered, in complete detail. Quotes, schedule times, set-up and communication were exception! Zero surprises Richie and Tommy (his project manager) were super friendly, honest, arrived on time, setup and sealed off the work area professionally, worked long hours and did an amazing cleaning and sanitizing job of the entire basement. I am completely blown away as to how clean everything now is. How much better it now smells and the major difference in the air quality! It is no longer the "Dungeon" but I room I very much look forward to using now. A million Thank yous to Richie and Tommy for the amazing job you did. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RICHIE MOLD, TOMMY (AND TEAM) AT ALL ISLAND MOLD INSPECTORS. Forever grateful, Susan M. East Setauket.

Rich McGinty (Richie Mold) from ALL ISLAND MOLD INSPECTORS came to our home in Ronkonkoma, New York and helped us tremendously during a very stressful situation. As an active duty military member, I truly appreciated his honesty, professionalism, and willingness to help another military family. During our military move, a moving company delivered mold-contaminated contents to our home, which affected the air quality inside the house. With children and pets in the home, we were extremely concerned about the environment and our family’s health. Rich performed a full mold inspection, indoor air quality assessment, and mold air testing throughout the home. He used professional equipment including an infrared thermal imaging camera, moisture detection equipment, and a particle counter to help evaluate the indoor environment and air quality conditions inside the house. He explained everything clearly and made us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Although he normally offers HEPA air scrubber equipment rentals, in our situation he dropped off two HEPA air scrubbers free of charge as a courtesy to help clean and filter the air in our home while we worked through everything. That truly meant a lot to our family. He also sent our mold samples to a certified EPA laboratory for detailed analysis and reporting, which gave us a much better understanding of what we were dealing with and helped support our insurance claim process. Not only did he help identify the mold and contamination concerns, but he also connected us with a public adjuster to assist with our insurance claim as well. If you need mold testing, mold inspection services, indoor air quality testing, particle analysis, or HEPA air scrubber rentals on Long Island, I highly recommend Rich McGinty and ALL ISLAND MOLD INSPECTORS. Professional, knowledgeable, responsive, veteran-owned, and someone who genuinely cares about helping people and protecting families, children, and pets.

Richard McGinty (Richie Mold) owner of All Island Mold Inspectors was a huge help to me. He was honest, reasonable, professional, and extremely easy to talk to. He inspected everything carefully, explained it in plain English, and most importantly, he did not try to upsell me or push unnecessary work. Tommy, who was with him, was also wonderful. He was pleasant, respectful, and professional, and together they made me feel comfortable during a very stressful situation. After months of stress, Richard gave me real peace of mind and pointed me in the right direction. I felt comfortable trusting him from the moment he came here. He was straightforward, looked out for my best interest, and treated me with kindness and respect. I’m very grateful for their help and highly recommend All Island Mold Inspectors. A+

Water Conditions Can Vary Across the Town of Islip

Islip includes both inland and coastal communities, which means water and drainage conditions are not the same for every property.

The Town of Islip maintains dedicated stormwater and floodplain-management programs. Its floodplain guidance explains that the highest-risk Special Flood Hazard Areas are concentrated primarily in coastal areas along the Great South Bay and Fire Island.

That does not mean every Islip home is at high risk of flooding.

The history of the individual property matters more.

Depending on the location, factors worth considering may include:

  • Previous basement water
  • Roof drainage
  • Yard drainage
  • Property elevation
  • Foundation-side moisture
  • Plumbing failures
  • Past storm-related water entry

The Town also operates a municipal stormwater-management program addressing runoff and local waterways.

For mold and moisture investigations, these broader conditions provide context, but the actual inspection should always focus on what happened at the specific property.
